People who has Chelonaphobia

Chelonaphobia is the fear of turtles. Because the stage is set up like a giant turtle for goodness sake! You’ll probably be too afraid to even step into the Big Top for TOTEM by Cirque du Soleil.

People who has Batrachophobia

Characters in the shows the evolutionary progress of species, with some performers dressed to resemble amphibians (at least that’s how I thought they resembled!). Because their customs and make-up are so awesome, those with serious cases of Batrachophobia may not be able to tell they are actually humans! Not.

People who has Geliophobia

That’s with a fear of laughter. Because there will be tons of laughing and even louder laughters as the show progresses. Or for some, you may just end up with lots of “Woah!” “Wow!” “What?!“.

People who has Ligyrophobia

A Ligyrophobia is afraid of loud noises, well, if you fall into this category and still want to watch TOTEM, you can probably bring along a noise-cancellation headphone to the show. Switched it on and remain calmed as you watch the performance.

People who has Atelophobia

Because the show is performed by humans and no matter how much one practices and are ready for the stage, there may be some imperfection in the delivery during actual performance. But I think if you have a fear of imperfection, go catch the shows towards their closing because by then they would have more practices and show experience in Singapore. Their final show probably be the best ever for them! So go buy your tickets on SISTIC now!

But You Really Want To Catch Totem!

It was definitely a show not to be missed, even if you have any of the above 5 fears. Because you may have to wait another 10 years for the next Cirque du Soleil to come into Singapore. Based on the reviews I’ve read so far, the storyline is really quite messed up and no one seemed to get it. But like what Kelvin from Cheekiemonkie shared, you’re watching a circus! If you want beautiful storyline that makes sense, go catch a PIXAR film, its cheaper also.
