Happy Planner Me with Create365 and Canon New Print Media

I am going to be more hardworking this year as I embark on my first happy planner project; something I want to do but been lazy to get started. Because we’ve got a new printer in the home and new photo stickers medium by Canon, this is the best time to get started! I stepped into my favorite scrapbooking store and out with happy purchases – Create365 2017 planner, some pretty stickers and new washi tapes. With the other stash I’ve accumulated over the years I was all set and ready to fill up my happy planner.

Keeping it Simple

I know time is limited and I may only have a few hours each month to fill up those pages with memories with my loved ones. So I choose to keep the planner simple, using only photos printed on the new Canon photo stickers, short journaling and little bit of stickers to decorate the page where space allowed.

Photo Stickers Make Things So Easy and Fun

One of the reasons I didn’t start my planner journey before is because I know I will end up with a very thick and bulky journal if I were to print my photos on photo paper and stick them in the planner. When I saw these new photo stickers from Canon for the first time, I knew this is it! I can get my photo memories into journal without adding bulk to it.

These photo stickers are thinner and easy to trim and stick. This makes the whole planner process simpler and mess-free. I create montage of photos over the week into one to two 4R photo sticker, print them with NFC connection from my mobile to my new Canon Pixma TS8070 printer, trim the stickers and stick.

Photos are for Printing

Every year, I can accumulate up to 10,000 photos on my mobile and cameras combined. Only a fraction of these got posted and shared on Instagram or Facebook with family and friends, and some get to see some lights on this blog. More than 90% of these photos are simply stored and backed up in digital form.

My girls, my mum and my grandmother love looking through photos and it is impossible to scroll through the thousands of photos every now and then just to see memories from the past. Print is our way of sharing precious memories among the four generations.

I print highlights of each year into photo books which my girls get to flip through whenever they want to. This year I printed our memories from 2016 onto HD FotoJournals from Canon EShop online. I feel safe leaving these photobooks in the living room for my girls to flip through anytime they want to. Unlike the other photobooks from past few years which were printed on matte/glossy photo paper instead of the High Definition Canon luster paper and mounted together with flatspread binding, making the HD FotoJournals more durable.

Besides photobooks, I also print out photos after each family gathering or celebrations onto photo papers in different sizes. Some framed and hung on our walls, some kept in photo boxes and some gifted to my mother and grandmother for their safekeeping. Everyone is always very happy to receive photo printouts and I simply love seeing them smile. Makes me feel so warm and fuzzy.

Print Photos anywhere from Home with Canon Selphy CP900

I take a lot of photos. And I don’t usually print any out in the past, till Ayra came into our life. Many photos were gone when my 1TB HDD died on me some years back, those memories now still unrecoverable with only few pieces left from blog and my flickr account. Now, I triple backup all my photos, kept the original in the original medium I took and stored them in and print out my favorites.

I have FOUR printers sitting in my work/craft/messy room and I try to set aside time at least once a month to go through all the photos taken the previous months to select, group, print and sort them out. Recently I got to try the new wireless Selphy from Canon. I own a ES40 Selphy and use it a lot. But with this wireless one, printing is even more convenient.

If there’s no wifi connection available, you can also link up directly with the printer wirelessly. Very easy to setup and super easy to use.

After testing it for a week, I still feel it lacks the many features the ES40 gives. And because most of my printable photos are store in SD cards, I prefer to plug the card in and print from it. One thing that I like about the CP900 that doesn’t come with the ES40 is the option to print these cute square stickers!

These are PERFECT for instagram photos! You can print all your favorite instapics anytime you want directly from your phone. Love it!

If you’re looking for a photo printer that’s portable and of good quality, give the Selphy printers a try.

Recording every moment with Baby

Time with baby is precious. Every moment, expression and action recorded for keepsake. When baby grow up she can read about her personal stories through mummy’s scrapbook and albums. (And this blog too!)

I’ve been using Canon for as long as I first got my first camera and printer; had tried other brands but still return back to the red C.

Now that our new bundle of joy is here, these toys of mine are made to good used! Camera is always within reach and the Selphy printer is setup at the coffee table for anytime printing.

Wonder if any other mummy or daddy out there is as obsessed as me!

Need to get myself more SD cards and Selphy refills! 😛
