Power Up Your Day with Quaker

In collaboration with Quaker, Brunches Cafe is now serving three special items in their menu. This menu won’t be around for long, so go try them before they stop serving these yummy and wholesome food.

Creamy Chicken Risotto, $15

Very well prepared and a good mix of risotto and Quaker Oats for Rice, adding a little more oomph into every bite. I was pleasantly that I actually enjoyed this dish a lot. I don’t usually order risotto but this one I like!

Quaker Sweet Corn Oatmeal Porridge, $12,50

Don’t get turned off when you see “oatmeal porridge”, it’s not at all tasteless nor boring! In fact, this porridge will make the young and young at heart go “ohhhhh…“. Served with sautéed asparagus, mushroom and a sunny side-up, this dish is suitable for vegetarian. Try this for a hearty lunch that’ll keep your tummy happy and filled for many hours.

Quaker Multigrain Cereal Parfait, $6.50

I’ve been eyeing on all the pretty creations and postings of variety of parfait on Instagram and always wanted to try make my own. But lazy me, always ended up with rojak bowl of everything in it and the serving isn’t worth snapping a photo of. This however was nice to look at, and nice to eat too. Layers of Quaker Multigrain Cereal, greek yoghurt and topped with mixed berries, this is a nice alternative to wrap up a hearty meal.

A hearty lunch

It was a relaxing and slow lunch, catching up with fellow blogger from Lemon-film Blog. Not sure how we managed to clear the plates, but we did finish everything you see below after almost 2 hours. That of cos include the mandatory photo taking especially when dining at such exquisite cafe for the first time.

Go check out Brunches Cafe one day and do give the special Quaker menu a try before the promotion ends.

Now We Get To Hug Our Favourite Snack To Sleep!

I cannot recall when it happened nor how it started, probably from one of those “*Nah you can have this snack.” time from my parents. Ayra is a super picky eater and she LOVES snacks! She can chomp down chips, seaweeds and anything salty or crispy in record time. Give her proper meal, she takes forever to take that first few bites. We had to resolved to feeding her with chips as spoon filled with rice! (We are super bad parents.)

One of her favorite, one that she will never say no to is Tao Kae Noi seaweed. Some days she even had them for breakfast before she goes to school. When I first saw super huge pack of Tao Kae Noi seeweed popping up on my timeline, I just had to find out what this new snack could be. And to my amusement and excitement, they have got huggable cushions with their awesome packaging printed! WE MUST GET THEM! And so we did. With every $8 of Tao Kae Noi snack purchased you can submit your receipts to redeem these super cute cushions measuring 15-inch in height! It’s bigger than my macbook can?

My girls love them! Now Ayra can munch her favourite seaweed and hug it too while watching Peppa Pig on YouTube.

The littlest one at home loves to snack on the original big roll too, and she had to sneak away quietly with one of the cushions from her sister. I giggled so much this is the only shot I got while she was in action.

Our favourite brand of seaweed now ventures into banana chips too! And both these packs were gone within minutes by none other than our precious snack chomper Ayra. I only tasted few pieces of these new chips and I’m looking out for Cheers to get more of these to stock up at home. Marvel Banana Chips are only available at Cheers now.

At Week 4 now, you’ve got 2 more cushions for redemption if you love these yummy seaweed as much as we do. More details for the redemption and promotion on Tao Kae Noi page on Facebook.

Disclaimer: The Loving Mum received the above yummy goodness from Tao Kae Noi because the mum is thick skin enough to write in to them for samples because she missed the redemption period for Ayra’s favorite snack pack (Crispy Seaweed Original flavour). All opinions are our own and it is true everyone in my family love Tao Kae Noi! My mum included!

Family Friendly Food Court at Kallang Wave Mall by Foodfare

I hate food courts! Really! But this food court at Kallang Wave Mall changed my perception totally.

You know the smell that get stuck to your clothes and hair after dining at a poorly ventilated place, especially in most food courts? This is the reason why I hate dining or even walking past one. I am not exaggerating when I tell you I literally dashed across one if I happened to be going out for meetings, make a wrong turn and stepped into a food court. I really really don’t like smelling like a walking kitchen if you know what I mean.

But when I was looking for place to settle lunch at Kallang Wave Mall, Foodfare at level 2 totally changed the way I perceived food courts. This place was bright (ample sunlight from the entire stretch of windows), spacious walkways and there is this halal Korean food which I love.

Foodfare at Kallang Wave Mall is a very family friendly food court. There are huge tables that can sit more than 10 people, and there’s also a play are for children, table football and children friendly dining tables and chairs. There’s also a washing area at the side of the family corner.

Personally, I love going to Kallang Wave Mall for three reasons – the Korean food at the food court, the huge Fairprice Xtra and Smoothie King cos they not just give power juice for your body, they have power juice for your charging use too! And there’s also free Wifi!

Lunch at Swensen’s

One of the common and frequent visited Halal restaurant in Singapore must be Swensen’s. Conveniently located at almost every major malls in Singapore, it is the family restaurant we go to when there isn’t other Halal food joints nearby.

Here are our usual orders from their menu…

Prawn and Fruit Salad

Zesty and healthy! We love the mango dressing that comes with this salad.

Malaysian Delights at PappaRich (Star Vista)

I was delighted to finally get to try the food at PappaRich! She passed by the Parkway Parade outlet so many times, but never got time to step in to try. So when the family decided to celebrate the Grandma’s birthday at PappaRich, Miss Makan was excited!

There were 18 of us that evening at PappaRich Star Vista, the small cafe is filled with our voices and laughter! Too much food was ordered that night and here are the few that I managed to snap some photos of before someone started eating.

Soya Milk Pudding

This I love love love! Combination of my two favorite sweets – Soya Milk and Pudding. How can it go wrong? Sweet, tasty and yummy! Recommended!

Satay Chicken

Fragrance and nicely BBQ. And the satay meat was big. The peanut gravy was alright.

Super Rich Combo

This is the dish for the super hungry! Or you cannot decide which rice item to order.

Pappa Chendol

A must try when visiting PappaRich! Sinfully good. Slurps!

I am so going back to try their other dishes! Can’t wait for my next makan session at PappaRich!

Tang Tea House (Jalan Kayu)

Was super excited when I first learned about the opening of Tang Tea House at Jalan Kayu from my Facebook feed! Thanks Kassidy for the post! 😛 Now we can finally satisfy my weird once-in-a-blue-moon dim sum craving near our house and in comfort of air con cafe!

We used to have to drive to Bedok area to get decent Halal Dim Sum, now its just a 5 mins drive from our place. Run by the same people from the Bedok branch, Tang Tea House has got pretty decent Dim Sum to satisfy those cravings. And the best part is they have my favorite Golden Sand Pau!
