In my 33 weeks now and finally we got our first proper photo shoot with Maryann at The Studio Loft. Booked the package during their promotion at the mother-baby exhibition at Singapore Expo. Spent the previous two nights preparing the props for the shoot and am glad they turned out pretty well. One sad thing was my hair; as expected, it didn’t cooperate with me and it was total mess. Well, I shall just keep telling myself that its my natural look with messy curled up hair.
The session with Maryann was so fun and comfortable. She directs us and helped us with our poses. “Look at each other”, “Now look at Baby” and “Now look at the camera”… She captured a few candids too with both of us laughing at our most natural (aka no image) expressions. Baby was enjoying her 45 minutes of fame too as she tried to pose inside me.
Can’t wait to have the photos printed and start scrapping! Two more weeks to start of my hibernation days. I should have enough time to get some proper scrapping done before Baby’s arrival.
After months of anticipation and guessing, its finally confirmed today when Prof John Tee announced my gender to my parents. Mum’s been telling me to reveal myself else I may have to wear clothes that isn’t for my gender!
Mum and Ayah both delighted to know my real gender. And I’m looking forward to pretty clothes and toys! Yipeeee!!! I’m coming soon!
Mummy pray and hope and wish; drank lots of water and kept pacing around before the scan, hoping to catch a glimpse of your gender today. Filled with excitement I looked into the scan monitor and all we saw was your curved spine with head pointing down and legs folded. Doctor tried but it was another failed attempt.
Wanted to start buying stuff for you but now we can’t pick pretty colors nor boy/girl indicated stuff for you. And Mummy already is half way through your first scrap album; trying my best to keep it as neutral and none gender focus as possible. You’re really giving us a challenge ah?
Measured your weight today and you’re as 1234g, measuring 23.3cm in length. Gynae said all is fine and you’re healthy. With your arrival inching closer, and you getting into position to see the world, its highly likely that we’ll be kept in suspense till your arrival!
Looks like it’ll be neutral colored clothes, accessories and necessities for you for the first 3 months.
Be good and grow well baby. We’ll try again on 20th July.
The week before the scheduled visit to the Gynae, Ayah and Mummy went to catch Thriller Live at Marina Bay Sands. I could feel you moving to the beat at some point during the show. We imagined you doing the moonwalk in the womb.
At the Gynae, you just had to prove us right didn’t you? The last time you had both your hands covering your ears and now you’ve got one hand over your forehead! Doing the MJ pose eh?

Gynae was not able to determine your gender accurately still as your legs were again folded up. He said its 90% a girl. Are you? Shall wait 5 more weeks to check again.
Loving you much!
Baby has been keeping us in suspense. Both scan we try to see whether you’re a boy or girl, but you weren’t in the right position for the doctor to scan. Mummy was anticipating and counting down to the day of the second scan at KKH to see you. The doctor doing the scan for me that day was rather inpatient and she was called out to help at another room. Instead of taking time for you to go to the right position, she simply told us that its not possible to see that day.
Mummy was disappointed.
Two more weeks to the next visit to Prof Tee for the regular checkup. Hope you’ll be facing up instead of down this time. Don’t keep Mummy and Daddy in suspense for too long k?
Love you baby!
Though mummy just hit 30, daddy wants to be sure that all is well for you and me. So I took the first trimester screening package to make sure that I do not fall under the high risk pregnancy category.
Blood test was done at week 9 and an ultrasound scan of nuchal translucency (NT) was carried out around week 13 day 6. The blood test was not as painful as I’d thought, though three tubes of blood was drawn out from my left arm.
The scan took quite a long time, mostly due to the long long wait for the doctor to come and the other because you were not in the right position for the doctor to see your nose. Mummy had to drink plenty of water and attempt to cough a couple of times so that you’ll move to the right position for the doctor to scan.
All results from the above tests were good and the risk of Down Syndrome is very very very very low. Daddy and Mummy are both very pleased to hear that.
Grow well baby. We’ll meet soon!
It’s the second time we see you today and you’ve grown so much over a month! Now measuring at 6.3cm! Big baby you are!

The last time A/Prof John Tee said you’ll be arriving on 17 Sep, and today he said you’ll be coming sooner on 13th Sep! Can’t wait to see you BB!
Grow and be well. Love you!
