Last weekend we checked out Pedestrian Night at Orchard and it was our very first time checking it out. We were also told that there will be quite an exciting line-up for the next two Pedestrian Night in 2016. So to prepare those who have not been to one of these yet, here’s what you got to do and be prepared for your next Pedestrian Night experience.
Bring a Stroller
For families with kids do bring along a stroller if you intent to hang around Orchard Road to catch all the performances and activities. My two princesses were stuck to their stroller throughout our stroll from the start to the end of Pedestrian Night. Cannot imagine having to carry them if they refused to walk when without the stroller.
At the last Pedestrian Night, there were free drinks distributed along Orchard Road. Not sure if this is the norm for all Pedestrian Night, but always good to be prepared. Bring along a bottle of water so you can stay hydrated while enjoying the night under the stars.
Dress Light and Enjoy
In the hot and humid weather here, always dress light so you can have fun participating in the activities lined-up at Pedestrian Night.
Be Prepared to Queue and Wait
In typical Singaporean style, when there’s freebie, expect to wait and expect to queue! In December’s Pedestrian Night, there were a few collection counters for freebie redemptions and photo taking along Orchard Road for all who downloaded the OneOrchard app. There were already a huge crowd waiting to dash into the queue for the more popular freebies, like shopping vouchers and movie combo tickets.
Download the OneOrchard App
Play, to further enhance visitors’ experiences. The app features star deals which allows user to enjoy shopping vouchers from Orchard Road’s brands.
OneOrchard will also integrate the ORBA Privilege Card, another initiative of the Association and its participating merchants for use by ORBA member organisations’ employees. Cardholders no longer need their physical card as identification as all the details will be housed on the application.
